The mission of the Maloof Collection is to promote the work of Vivian Maier, and to safeguard the archive for the benefit of future generations.

The vast scope of the archive is impressive. It consists of 100,000 to 150,000 negatives, over 3,000 prints, hundreds of rolls of film, home movies, audio tape interviews, and various other items, representing roughly 90 percent of Vivian’s work. The collection is the physical legacy of Vivian’s intense passion to document the many things that caught her eye in the world she encountered.
